This weekend on the night of Saturday 3/13/10 it's time to set your clocks forward 1 hour! Also, don't forget to check the batteries in your smoke detectors. If you need help with your detectors please feel free to call us at 228-1351 to make an appointment for a firefighter to come to your home and check them.

Structure Fire 12/12/09

On Saturday December 12th Harrods Creek and Worthington fire departments were dispatched to a stove fire in the Hunting Creek neighborhood. Engine 1232 arrived on scene with smoke showing from side charlie and the homeowner in the driveway. The homeowner confirmed everyone was out of the structure. After a walk around 1232W confirmed a working kitchen fire. Engine 1232's crew stretched an 1 3/4 line and made an interior attack. The crew extinguished the fire in the kitchen and moved to the second floor. A small amount of fire was found in a second floor bedroom and was extinguished by Engine 1838's crew who had stretched a backup line. The structure was ventilated and the fire contained.

MVA at US 42 and I-265

On December 9th Harrods Creek was dispatched to an MVA at US Highway 42 and I-265. Engine 1232 arrived on scene to find a multi-vehicle head on collision. 1232's crew secured the two vehicles and stood by for tow trucks to arrive. Fortunately there were no injuries in the crash.

Harrods Creek Firefighters battle Thanksgiving Blaze

Harrods Creeek was dispatched to a possible structure fire around 8:00PM Thanksgiving night on River Knolls Drive. Crews arrived to find fire through the roof on the charlie side of the structure. Crews made an interior attack and were able to contain the fire before it spread throughout the structure. No one was injured in the blaze. Crews from St. Matthews, Worthington, and McMahan also responded.

MVA October 26, 2009

On the morning of October 26th Engine 1232 responded to an MVA at US Hwy 42 and Seminary Dr. Upon arrival crews found a car had rear ended a motorcycle knocking the rider to the side of the road. The rider was transported to a local hospital.

MVA October 8, 2009

On October 8th Rescue 1288 responded with Worthington Fire Department to I-71 southbound under the I-265 overpass for a motor vehicle accident with a rescue. Upon arrival crews found a vehicle pinned between a semi and the cable barrier. Crews worked to free the driver of the vehicle by removing the roof.
